By Mathew Nyaungwa

She made history as the first ever female to chair the Kimberley Process on behalf
of the United States. Ambassador Gillian Milovanovic, who had been at the helm of
an organisation established in 2003 to promote the trading of conflict free diamonds,
will soon be bequeathing her position to another female leader; South Africa’s mineral

Jewelers Report Mixed Black Friday

By Rob
Bates with Daniel Ford
JCK          Nov. 26, 2012

Overall, jewelers reported mixed results on Black Friday-but remain optimistic for
the upcoming holiday. Many say that the day after Thanksgiving is not as important
for them as it is for big-box retailers, so they didn’t try to lure shoppers in
with any specials. >>>

The Importance of Online Merchandising for the Accessories Market

By Allyson Bainbridge-Riccardi
          FASHION’ S COLLECTIVE

Why do we, as consumers, choose to buy an accessory? There are no staple accessories,
only staple categories that we personalize to fit our individual style. For example,
my staple watch is my beloved black Chanel J12, but someone else might adopt a Cartier
Tank Anglaise or a Toy Tokyo as the ultimate self-expression.

Why diamonds are an investor’s best friend

Before the 1960s, marriage customs in Japan had changed little for centuries.
They followed Shinto beliefs and weddings were arranged by parents. There was little
romance or courtship and engagement rings were not part of the tradition.

Canadian Diamonds

Arguably, the Canadian diamond industry’s best years have passed. While its flagship
Diavik and Ekati mines are aging, the mines being developed are not of the same
scale or value. But they are among the more attractive new diamond projects out
there and Canada remains a relatively unexplored diamond frontier compared with
other countries.

outright refuse. The choices aren’t exactly enticing: either freeze your buns off
in the Arctic North or boil up in equatorial South.

By Constantine

of Cyber Monday for online sales. A growing number of people aren’t waiting until
the holiday weekend is over to go shopping online and are getting it done on Thanksgiving
